Autumn Clematis

Bridgehampton, NY/November 26, 2011

I stand in awe of the beauty and mystery that surround me.
These autumn clematis, well past the flowering stage, dancing on my terrace.
What I do not see now, while it surrounds me will go unseen. If I don't
record this and share it, it will go unsaid, unwritten, unappreciated. Vanish.
This is everywhere: life. The life of each seed, blossoming into each and
every flower, tree and blade of grass.

All is just a speck to me
Gliding on a distant sea

Drifting on a different tide
Way away the other side

Nowhere else I'd rather be
All connected seamlessly

Never want a little more
Reaching for another shore

Evermore a speck to me
Sheer beauty of infinity

Flotsam, jetsam, bit of foam
All is but a place called home

Time and space now I see
I've become a speck to me

Circular Connections

"In the circle nothing stops, nothing comes to an end, it just keeps going. The hole at center takes the viewer back to the wall. The autonomous object is stated.
The eighty inches expresses the monumental,
hung it is taller than the viewer, one looks up to its top and down to its bottom." Max Gimblett

Words are like the wind and the waves…flow with whatever may happen and let your mind be free; stay center. Chuang Tzu

And I saw the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops that made one circle. Black Elk

Our task is to widen our circle of compassion to embrace all living beings and all of nature. Albert Einstein

Presently you lose consciousness of your own existence; you blend with the landscape, and become part and parcel of nature. John Muir

Coming to believe in a power greater than ourselves means surrendering to the power that already exists in us. And, if that power exists in us it exits in everyone. And, together with others, our power is increased. All we have to do is ask for it. And, when we ask for it we are helped in such a way as to tap into the power that is uniquely ours. All of this is a POWER GREATER THAN SELF. The more we are open to it, ask for help with it, embrace it and practice it, the more we joyfully discover it everywhere, in everyone, in everything.

Villa des Amis/LPC

It is good to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark

so that all its shy presence may haunt you and

possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
